PART WORN TYRES
Tyres are a ‘safety critical item’ and the correct
checking, labelling & fitting of ‘part worn tyres’ is a legal
requirement. The MVDA has written a brief guidance document, which is
free to members and can be downloaded from the members ‘documents’ area.
The MVDA is also working with Training For Profit to deliver on-site training
specifically for part-worn tyres. The course is IMI-accredited, and is
undertaken at your own premises, and involves both theory and practical work.
The content is shown in the MVDA guidance. You can also contact PFT
directly. MVDA members get a discount.

AIRBAG RE-USE &
In 2013 the MVDA commissioned an independent company to
undertake a project on the feasibility of reusing airbags. The report can
be downloaded from the members ‘documents’ area. As part of this project,
a new tool and training course for testing airbags was developed. MVDA
members get a discount.
The same company that did the ‘airbag reuse’ project also
has a long-established and very widely used airbag deployment training course.
In both cases, training will be undertaken at your site,
or another nearby suitable location.

TCM is a requirement for holding an Environmental Permit
(what used to be known as a Waste Management Licence). This used to be
assessed by the Environment Agency, but since 2009 has required assessment by
WAMITAB/ CIWM via a 2-part multiple choice test, which needs to be retaken
every 2 years. All ATFs should have undertaken an initial assessment
during the period 2009-2012, retested before end February
2014. The period 3 deadline is 28th February 2016
The trainer that MVDA used has recently retired & as yet we haven't found a replacement. So if you need training then werecommends that you contact WAMITAB-CIWM.
